After a series of reorganizations and renamings, the Kharkiv Office of Military-Industrial Construction received the name “Zhytlobud-2” in 1964. At that time, the trust became one of the largest construction organizations in Kharkiv, specializing in the construction of residential buildings and social facilities.
In 1963, “Zhytlobud-2” specialists built a unique for that time movie concert hall “Ukraine” with a complex technological solution of a “suspended” roof of a large area. The buildings of the “Hiprostal” institute and the “Intourist” hotel (now “National”) appeared on Lenina Avenue.
In 1964, the reconstruction of the Palace of Pioneers at the street address was completed. Sumska, 37, whose building was also damaged during the war.
